I feel that this is because there is a relatively short history of drinking cocktails in Romania and that there is still a way to go. Coming from a background of cocktail bartending this is something close to my heart. A drink I often use as my bench mark is a Cosmopolitan. This is a fabulous drink when made well. As with most cocktails there is a very simple | method of preparation, but it is important to stick to the recipe and use the very freshest ingredients. The Cosmopolitan has been around since the 1970's, but the Industry Standard Recipe that is used the world over is the version of the Cosmo created by Toby Cecchini. A Manhattan bartender in the mid 1980's, his drink later was made famous by the TV show “Sex and the City”. If you want to mess with a classic cocktail by changing the ingredients, you really have to call it something else. I would love to hear from anyone who can point me in the direction of good cocktails in Bucharest. You can find a list of bike paths in the Online Survival Guide, HERE, or find your own paths and tell us about them! If your bike needs a little help or if you need a new lock, you will also find a list of bike repair shops there. And, while parking is a huge problem for cars in the city, this is not the case for bikes: you can find a list of pretty safe places to park your cycle throughout the city at the link above. Still, if you are out and about in the city, we recommend being very aware of where you park. Parking near banks and ATMs is good because they have cameras, but it is also normally safe where there are a lot of people.
