At the turn of the 19th century Queen Mary of Romania wore traditional apparel at official balls, inciting a new trend amongst the elite of the time. In the 1970s, it was again very fashionable, and ABBA, among other artists, wore Romanian shirts at concerts. The famous painting The Romanian Blouse by Matisse inspired Yves Saint Laurent in one of his creations. Entrance fee: 80 RON/adult. Parallel workshop: "Painting for children" by our art professor Miss Petreanu: 40 RON/child (over 2 years) Soft drinks and water are included in the entrance fees

| | | Fox's Bar Review with Richard Fox | Fourteen | ADDRESS: Strada Benjamin Franklin Nr. 14 Sector 1 PHONE: +40 (0)741 123 098 WEB: WWW.FOURTEEN.RO Fourteen is an English-owned bar new on the Bucharest night life scene which opened its doors in October 2009, and I have to say what a little gem. Situated at Strada Benjamin Franklin 14 just to the side of the | Athenaeum,it is a basement bar club run by a very friendly and welcoming team of bar staff serving up good wines, cocktails and a selection of draught and bottle beers, including Newcastle Brown Ale, which makes me feel right at home! The bar has a cosy feel with its exposed red brick walls and soft lighting, ideal for an early evening drink, with bench seating and tables along the walls playing background tunes. As the evening progresses the tunes are gently rev’d up playing a mixture of 80's, Brit pop with a few of your favorite anthems in the mix. This is a great venue for a private party if you want to invite 80 of your best friends. Fourteen is open from Tuesday ‘till Saturday 7pm until very late. | | presents this issue's Hint! | This issue's hint is actually a double hint! Our expert guide (a Bucharest native) will take you on a journey to deep within the heart of the city's cultural and political history: fifty years of communism, twenty years of democracy, and the "Golden Age" of the interwar period have all shaped the city in different and profound ways. After visiting many engaging sites, neighbourhoods and a traditional market, we will have an open discussion for your questions and comments in a hotel for approx. 45 minutes. The discussion will be moderated by our guide. Duration: 4 hours Price: RON 100/person, including snacks and coffee after the tour during the discussion.
